Liverpool’s interest in Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak has reached a serious stage.

The Reds are considering a £120 million offer as they continue to strengthen under Arne Slot.

But Slot wants more firepower and Isak has long been on the radar.

Initial reports suggested that Newcastle had no intention of selling their star man.

However, the landscape may not be that straightforward, especially as Liverpool wouldn’t push forward without some belief that the player is open to the switch.

While Newcastle remain firm on keeping their top scorer, Alexander Isak has not shut the door on a possible transfer to Liverpool.

He knows very well that Newcastle want to keep him.

“At the same time, he knows that Liverpool would offer not just important money but an ambitious project, too.”

Isak bagged 23 league goals last season and helped Newcastle return to the Champions League.

But if Liverpool make their move official, the striker could face a major decision.

However, Frankfurt recently rejected a £65 million bid from the Magpies, leaving the door open for Liverpool to make a stronger play.

Isak may not be agitating for a move, but his stance is clear: if Liverpool bring the offer, he’ll listen.
