Alexis Mac Allister has confessed he didn't consider Alisson Becker among 'the finest' shot-stoppers globally until becoming his Liverpool colleague.
The South American pair previously faced each other as rivals at both club and international level before forging a solid bond on Merseyside.

Mac Allister signed for Liverpool in a £35m deal from Brighton during the summer of 2023.
This came five years following Alisson's own switch from AS Roma for what was then a record fee paid for a goalkeeper.
The 31-year-old has worked tirelessly to justify the confidence the Reds showed in him by contributing to two Premier League triumphs, the UEFA Champions League, and numerous other major honours throughout his career.

He also shone as Brazil claimed the 2019 Copa America crown.
Yet despite these achievements, Mac Allister remained unconvinced he was witnessing a goalkeeper operating at the highest level.
"I tell him, 'You know, when I was at Brighton, I didn't understand what the hype was all about.
Alisson's contract with Liverpool runs until next summer, but the club has the option to extend it for another year until 2027.
In a statement made in June, he expressed his expectation that an extension would be agreed upon.
"I've never been able to plan long term.
Obviously, now I have one year left on my contract and another year of club option, which they will probably exercise," he clarified.

As of now, no decision has been made, leaving him and his teammates uncertain about their future together beyond 2026.
Mac Allister added that the goalkeeper still has time to fulfil a personal promise.
"He hasn't invited me to his house for a barbecue yet, so he has this season ahead to keep to his word," the Argentine player commented.
