Liverpool has been handed a significant boost ahead of the new season with Alexis Mac Allister returning to full training.

The Reds midfielder, who has already made his feelings clear on a sensational transfer to Real Madrid, missed the Reds' final matches of the previous season against Brighton and Crystal Palace after Arne Slot disclosed that he had been playing with an injury for the latter part of the campaign and needed complete recovery.

However, it seemed the 26-year-old's problem was more serious than initially thought when he was absent from the Premier League team's opening preseason matches against Preston and AC Milan.

But according to the Daily Mail, Mac Allister has fully recovered and rejoined his teammates in full training last week in Hong Kong.

Despite not featuring in the 4-2 loss to AC Milan at Kai Tak Sports Park Stadium on Saturday, Mac Allister was included in the Liverpool squad that flew to Japan for the second leg of the club's preseason tour over the weekend.

Fellow midfielder Wataru Endo is also expected to play in his home country after missing recent preseason matches due to illness.

Mac Allister spoke about his Liverpool future in April

He said: "I read the rumors and the news reaches me, but the important thing is the present.

"No matter how much the club loves me, if I play poorly this weekend, they’ll lose interest.

"I’m fine at Liverpool, and I don’t have any need (to leave).

"I have a lot of respect for the club, and I don’t think it’s necessary to talk about other clubs."

Mac Allister, who is a World Cup winner with Argentina, joined Liverpool during the summer of 2023 after previously playing for Argentions Juniors, Boca Juniors, and Brighton.
