Two Liverpool players — Mohamed Salah and Alexis Mac Allister — have been named in the PFA Players’ Player of the Year top six for the 2024–25 season.

The Egyptian forward finished the league season with 29 goals and 18 assists, topping both charts.

In what was his second season at Liverpool, the Argentine midfielder finally began receiving widespread recognition after an underrated debut year.

Speaking on the recognition, Mac Allister responded with characteristic humility:

“It means a lot because it comes from the players.

Being voted by people who face you week in and week out — that makes it special,” he said.

He also made sure to highlight the team around him:

“It’s not an individual sport.

I wouldn’t be on that list without the team I have around me,” Mac Allister added.

While the final winner will be announced on August 19, the recognition itself is a moment of validation — for a player who quietly elevated his game and earned the respect of opponents across the league.
