Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker has provided clarity on his Anfield future amid an ongoing overhaul of the Reds’ goalkeeping department this summer.
Speaking ahead of Brazil’s 2026 World Cup qualifier against Peru, the 32-year-old confirmed he expects Liverpool to activate the club’s option to extend his contract through to 2027 (via reports by Liverpool Echo).
“I’ve never been able to plan long term.
Obviously, now I have one year left on my contract and another year of club option, which they will probably exercise,” said Alisson.
The Brazilian shot-stopper, who joined Liverpool in 2018, was one of the most pivotal figures in Jurgen Klopp’s and now Arne Slot’s setups.
He has helped the club to secure two Premier League titles and a Champions League crown among other honours.

While confirming his likely contract extension, Alisson also admitted he holds a personal ambition to return to his boyhood club Internacional in Brazil later in his career, but stressed that this is not an imminent move.
“I want to return, especially to Inter.
I don’t know when it will happen, but I still want to do it at a high level.
I want to be very focused; I don’t want anything external to get in the way of that.”
Alisson’s comments come at a time of significant change in Liverpool’s goalkeeping ranks.
The Reds have already secured the arrival of highly-rated 20-year-old Hungarian prospect Armin Pecsi.
While Georgian international Giorgi Mamardashvili will officially join on July 1 in a £30m deal.
Meanwhile, former backup Caoimhin Kelleher has departed for Brentford in an £18m move.
With Alisson confirming his likely stay, Liverpool can count on their world-class No.1 for the foreseeable future.
