Liverpool's preparations for the new Premier League season continue to take shape after they agreed a club-record £116 million fee with Bayer Leverkusen to sign Florian Wirtz.
The deal will see the Reds smash the £85m they committed to paying Benfica when they signed Darwin Nunez in June 2022.
The Premier League champions will pay Leverkusen a guaranteed fee of £100m, while the remaining £16m will be based on performance-based add-ons during the German's time at Anfield.
But you already knew that, didn't you?

Alisson Becker has reportedly rejected a summer transfer to Galatasaray, with the goalkeeper happy at Anfield.
Sky Sport Germany's Florian Plettenberg claims the Turkish outfit made a "concrete approach" to the Brazilian a few weeks.

However, Plettenberg says Galatasaray's offer was swiftly rejected by Alisson, who has 12 months remaining on his current deal, though Liverpool have the option to extend that by a further year.
When asked about his future on Merseyside earlier this month, the 32-year-old said: “Personally, I have never been able to plan for the long term.
“Obviously, I have one year left on my contract and another year of option from the club.
"They will probably exercise that option.
“I think about what I have in hand, about doing a great job, it is a decisive moment in my career, with a World Cup approaching.
"I want to be very focused, I don’t want any planning to get in the way of this great goal."
Meanwhile, Liverpool are reportedly close to agreeing a new four-year contract with academy defender Wellity Lucky.
The Spaniard, who joined the Reds at under-13s level, is said to have attracted interest from elsewhere after progressing through the ranks at Anfield.
However, Fabrizio Romano claims Liverpool are now close to reaching an agreement with the 19-year-old.

Providing an update on Lucky's situation via X, Romano said Liverpool are "confident" of tying the defender down to a new contract "shortly".
