It's coming up on 10 years since Brendan Rodgers' sacking as Liverpool manager, but, in truth, it feels like a lot longer given everything that has happened since.

Rodgers nearly won the league as Liverpool manager in 2014, but the Reds fell agonisingly short, and that ended up being as good as it got for the Northern Irishman.

Given the success that the club has experienced since Rodgers' exit, it would be easy to think that he was a failure, but he was certainly an improvement on the likes of Kenny Dalglish and Roy Hodgson, who came before him.

We've taken a look at the signings Rodgers made and where they are now.

2012-13

Brendan Rodgers' first transfer window in charge of Liverpool did not see the Reds make many particularly memorable signings, with Joe Allen probably the best of the bunch,.

Allen was Liverpool's most-expensive signing during the 2012 summer window, joining from Swansea after impressing during the Welsh club's first-ever season in the Premier League.

Fabio Borini, Oussama Assaidi, Samed Yesil and Nuri Sahin also joined in 2012, but none of them enjoyed particularly distinguished Anfield careers.

The January window in that season was another story, though, as Philippe Coutinho and Daniel Sturridge arrived from Inter Milan and Chelsea respectively

Both players went on to be important during the early stages of the club's on-field revival.

Fabio Borini — left Liverpool 2015 — now a free agent Joe Allen — left Liverpool in 2016 — now retired Oussama Assaidi — left Liverpool in 2015 — now owns his own sports gym in Morocco Nuri Sahin — left Liverpool 2013 — most recently managed Borussia Dortmund Samed Yesil — left Liverpool in 2016 — now plays for ATS Krefeld Daniel Sturridge — left Liverpool in 2019 — now a pundit for Sky Sports Philippe Coutinho — left Liverpool in 2018 — now plays for Vasco de Gama 2013-14

Another relative dud of a summer window saw Liverpool sign the likes Simon Mignolet and Mamadou Sakho, who are probably the most memorable new signings from the 2013-14 season.

Mignolet was the Reds' first-choice 'keeper for a few seasons and ended his Anfield career with more than 200 appearances for the club.

Iago Aspas also joined during this year, and while his spell at Anfield was forgettable, he has had a fantastic career with Spanish side Celta Vigo, where has is regarded as arguably the best player in the club's history.

Luis Alberto — left Liverpool in 2016 — now plays for Al-Duhail Iago Aspas — left Liverpool in 2015 — now plays for Celta Vigo Simon Mignolet — left Liverpool in 2019 — now plays for Club Brugge Kolo Toure — left Liverpool in 2016 — now an assistant coach at Man City Aly Cissokho — left Liverpool in 2014 — now plays for Lamphun Warriors Mamadou Sakho — left Liverpool in 2017 — now a free agent Tiago Ilori — left Liverpool in 2017 — now plays for Dila Victor Moses — left Liverpool in 2014 — now plays for Luton Town 2014-15

Some decent signings here, but also some not-so-decent signings

The 2014 window saw Liverpool sign Adam Lallana from Southampton, and he went on to have a good career at Anfield, making 178 appearances and winning both the Premier League and the Champions League.

Rickie Lambert followed Lallana from Southampton to Liverpool — the club he supports — but he was a strange signing, and scored just two Premier League goals before leaving the club the following year.

Mario Balotelli was another strange signing, but Emre Can, Dejan Lovren, and, of course, Divock Origi were all solid signings

Origi remains something of a cult hero on Merseyside for his contributions to Liverpool's Champions League win in 2019.

Rickie Lambert — left Liverpool in 2015 — now a youth development coach at Wigan Adam Lallana — left Liverpool in 2020 — now a first-team coach at Southampton Kevin Stewart — left Liverpool in 2017 — now retired Emre Can — left Liverpool in 2018 — now plays for Borussia Dortmund Lazar Markovic — left Liverpool in 2019 — now plays for Baniyas Dejan Lovren — left Liverpool in 2020 — now plays for PAOK Divock Origi — left Liverpool in 2022 — now a free agent Javier Manquillo — left Liverpool in 2015 — now a free agent Alberto Moreno — left Liverpool in 2019 — now plays for Como Mario Balotelli — left Liverpool in 2015 — now a free agent 2015-16

Joe Gomez is Liverpool's longest-serving player, and he has been at the club for so long that his move to Anfield pre-dates the start of the Jurgen Klopp era.

Roberto Firmino and James Milner were two other great signings that Liverpool made while Rodgers was in charge, while Caoimhin Kelleher was an academy signing.

Nathaniel Clyne, Danny Ings and Christian Benteke were all disappointing for the Reds.

Caoimhin Kelleher — left Liverpool in 2025 — now plays for Brentford Joe Gomez — still at Liverpool Adam Bogdan — left Liverpool in 2019 — now a free agent Danny Ings — left Liverpool in 2019 — now a free agent James Milner — left Liverpool in 2023 — now plays for Brighton & Hove Albion Nathaniel Clyne — left Liverpool in 2020 — now plays for Crystal Palace Roberto Firmino — left Liverpool in 2023 — now plays for Al-Ahli Christian Benteke — left Liverpool in 2016 — now plays for DC United
