Joe Gomez's 2024-25 campaign was a mixed bag: he struggled for game time at the start of the season before proving his quality in December when Ibrahima Konate was sidelined through injury.

Last summer, Gomez was linked with both Newcastle and Crystal Palace but ended up staying put and played an important role in Liverpool's title win.

“My focus was always on the club,” Gomez told The Guardian in December as he reflected on the 2024 summer of uncertainty.

“I know how blessed I am to be here and it will be 10 years in the summer.

To be somewhere 10 years and not have any blips would not be natural.”

Gomez is Liverpool's longest-serving player — he was signed so long ago that Brendan Rodgers was the manager when he arrived at Anfield — but he is being linked with a move away from the club again this summer.

The Reds are said to be willing to sell Gomez and would apparently accept $35 million for him, and he will not be short of Premier League suitors.

In fact, as many as eight clubs in the English top flight would be interest in signing Gomez, including all three of the teams that gained promotion for the Championship this season: Leeds, Burnley and Sunderland.

Aston Villa, Everton, Bournemouth and West Ham are also said to be keen on Gomez.

Gomez, who would traditionally be eligible for a testimonial after spending 10 years at Liverpool, was praised for his impact on and off the field by Arne Slot ahead of the Reds' final game of the season last month.
