Liverpool missed out on the Champions League last season so will do all they can to get their hands on it this time around.
The Reds can officially call themselves the best team in England after cruising to the Premier League title last season, although they cannot help but want more.
Not only will they be desperate to retain their title, but they will also want to go all-in for the Champions League too, especially after how they exited the competition in last time out.
Losing on penalties to the eventual champions is not the end of the world, but the fact it was at Anfield after having a one-goal lead will have frustrated Arne Slot a lot.
And, after spending just shy of £450m, the pressure is certainly on the new players to deliver and prove to the rest of the world why they are worth the money.
However, despite all the new signings, Ally McCoist believes that one young player in particular is ready to show the world what he is about.

Due to how well Liverpool have fared in the transfer market this summer, as well as taking into consideration their achievements last season, many expect them to go all the way in most competitions.
If they do, they will need every player to play their part, with squad depth a key factor if they are to achieve what they are setting out to do.

With that said, a few stars could get their chance to really prove themselves when Slot rotates his team, and McCoist believes that Rio Ngumoha might be the player who could make a real difference for them in the competition.
When asked by TNTSports who he thinks will be the breakout star of the Champions League, the former striker backed Ngumoha to be that player.

There is a very strong chance he could be too as Slot clearly trusts him, something proven by the fact Slot included the 17-year-old in the squad ahead of the likes of Federico Chiesa.
Ngumoha has taken his chances when he has got them so far, and even though many may think that the Champions League is a leap too far, it would be no surprise to see him prove the doubters wrong yet again.
After this international break is done, football is well and truly back and Liverpool will start playing twice a week for a considerable period of time.
After they play Burnley on Sunday, the Reds welcome Atletico Madrid to Anfield for their first Champions League game, the first time they have played each other since 2021.
Rotation will likely occur due to these games being so close together, suggesting Ngumoha could get some valuable minutes in at least one of them.
It is certainly a big ask for the teenager, but as everyone keeps saying, if you are good enough, you are old enough.
