Speaking to BFM Lille, Letang has explained the circumstances which would allow Lille to cash in on the Portugal international.

“We saw he had been able to show an interesting level of performance during his return from injury at the end of the season, but also at the Euros with Portugal," added the Lille president.

He said: “I have already discussed with him, if an offer from a big club arrives, Renato will be able to leave.

He is currently under contract at Lille until 2023.

The Portuguese midfielder was linked with a move to Liverpool last December and again this summer following his impressive displays at Euro 2020, at a time whereby Gini Wijnaldum had already departed.
