The end of the season is arriving all across European football as Liverpool’s loan army prepare for a return to base.
As ever, it has been a busy season for the Reds’ loan department, with numerous highly-rated young players heading off to cut their teeth elsewhere.
Stefan Bajcetic was a surprise departee last summer as he joined RB Salzburg and then Las Palmas on temporary deals.
Bajcetic had been expected to play a part under Arne Slot, but with the Liverpool head coach deeming him to be in need of building his match fitness, he moved on for the season.
Initially, the 20-year-old struggled to make an impact at Salzburg.
But having cut his move to Austria short, Bajcetic has excelled at Las Palmas since January.
But despite his impressive performances, the Liverpool youngster has been unable to keep Las Palmas in La Liga.
Disappointed, Bajcetic penned a heartfelt message to the club’s fans.

Although Bajcetic has seemingly been good on a personal level, it has been tough going for Las Palmas since his arrival.
The Liverpool man has featured in 14 La Liga games, with only two wins registered in that time.
Relegation was inevitable.

Nevertheless, it obviously still stings, and taking to his Instagram page on Thursday evening, Bajcetic laid bare the disappointment he felt for the club and its fans.
“These are tough days for everyone, but especially for you fans, we have not been able to fulfil the goal of staying in the league you deserve,” he said.

“In 4 months I have realized the fans this club has and it hurts me a lot that you have failed.
“Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for all the support and for being there always.”
Despite the failure to stay in La Liga, Bajcetic’s stint at Las Palmas has clearly been helpful for his development.

Playing week-in-week-out in the Spanish top division should have brought back the match sharpness that had fallen by the wayside at Liverpool.
Having been deemed not ready by Slot last summer, it’s clear that Bajcetic will be given the chance to make a different impression during the upcoming pre-season.
With Liverpool needing some cover for Ryan Gravenberch, the ideal scenario is that Bajcetic can do enough to make himself a genuine option for Slot.
If he can’t do that for a second season running, perhaps it would be best for everyone if Liverpool put Bajcetic up for sale.
