Andoni Iraola is keen to facilitate the loan exit of Bournemouth youngster Ben Winterburn before the transfer window closes.

After losing to Liverpool on the opening day of the Premier League season, Bournemouth beat Wolves 1-0 on Saturday, 23 August.

However, the Cherries went on to lose 2-0 to Brentford in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday, 26 August.

Winterburn featured as Bournemouth lost 4-2 to Liverpool on 15 August, despite Antoine Semenyo’s brace at Anfield.

However, according to Sky Sports‘ Transfer Centre [6.02 pm, 28 August], both the winger and Iraola are keen for him to go out on loan.

The report adds that one Scottish Premiership club and teams in League Two are interested in the 20-year-old.

Winterburn has made seven senior appearances for Bournemouth since returning from loan spells with non-league sides Totton and Weymouth in 2024.

However, the Cherries academy graduate would benefit from a loan move away from the Vitality Stadium, even though he featured as a substitute against Liverpool.

The 20-year-old’s lack of game time in the Premier League proves that he would benefit from more minutes in either the Scottish Premiership or League Two.

Winterburn is yet to score for Bournemouth at senior level, which is a milestone he would be more likely to achieve after making another loan exit.

Iraola has endured a busy window, acquiring players like Bafode Diakite in response to the departures of talented stars like Real Madrid new boy, Dean Huijsen.

Meanwhile, the Bournemouth boss is still focused on developing his club’s young talent, amid his decision to let winger Winterburn leave the Vitality Stadium on loan.
