Andy Robertson has already made his Celtic feelings known as a Liverpool exit is hinted at(Image: BBC)
Liverpool star Andy Robertson has previously admitted that Celtic were 'his life' as a move away from Anfield this summer is hinted at.
The Glaswegian defender, who has become a legend on Merseyside with a Champions League victory and a duo of Premier League titles under his belt after success under Arne Slot this season, faced early setbacks after being let go by Celtic at 15 due to his size.
With the transfer rumour mill in full swing and talk of Liverpool scouting for a new left-back, Robertson's previous declarations about his boyhood club have come back into the spotlight, as he has also suggested he might be considering a move away from Merseyside through his comments.
Robertson, whose contract runs until 2026, reflected on his journey with Liverpool in a candid chat with Match of the Day following their league triumph, acknowledging the uncertainty of the upcoming transfer window.
"Obviously, the club are going to have a busy summer, so we need to see where everyone stands," Robertson admitted.
Today was special."
A lifelong supporter, the 31-year-old has never concealed his passion for Celtic, confessing on the We Are Liverpool podcast in 2023: "Celtic was my life.
"Had the season ticket, used to go to every home game in particular and try to go to some away games and things like that.
The team I grew up with was a fantastic Celtic team with Henrik Larsson, Chris Sutton, Stiliyan Petrov, all these players.
I didn't really watch much other football, I was that focused on trying to watch Celtic, and Celtic was in the Champions League.
"That's when I watched them play against English teams and stuff, but I didn't watch that much English football.
I only watched really the Champions League when [English] teams played in it.
"If a Celtic game was on and say Liverpool were playing Man United, I'd watch Celtic against Motherwell or whoever it was.
So it was always Celtic for me."
Such an admission could indicate where Robertson may wish to play his football should he depart Liverpool, and ex-Reds striker Fernando Morientes stated this month that he feels Parkhead could possibly be the defender's next destination, reports the Daily Record.
"Robertson has spoken about Celtic, and it's probably because he's thinking about it [a move]," Morientes told CasinoHawks regarding the Scotsman's future.
