Andy Robertson could join Atletico Madrid this summer, and the Scotsman’s past quotes about the La Liga outfit have resurfaced.

Liverpool fans have been rocked by the news that Atletico Madrid reportedly want to sign Robertson this summer.

Fellow Premier League stars Kieran Trippier and Matt Doherty have made the switch to Atletico in the past, with varying success.

It was, however, that same mentality that caused Robertson to heavily criticise the Spanish side back in 2020, after facing them in the Champions League.

“They celebrated as if they won the tie after the game so let’s see,” Robertson told TNT Sports.

“We have a couple of weeks and Premier League business to take care of.
