Y Robertson says Liverpool were unable to 'get near' Real Madrid in the last 10-15 minutes and gave away 'cheap' goals in their Champions League tie on Tuesday night.

Liverpool suffered a 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid following a brace from Vinicius Junior and a goal from Marco Asensio.

Robertson believes Liverpool were 'punished' for a slow start and says it's 'do or die' in the next leg as they fight to keep their European dream alive.

Robertson reflected in Liverpool's performance after the game, saying: 'We didn't start great, we gave away too many cheap balls, we went quiet in the game.

Roberts did praise Mohamed Salah for scoring an away goal, but admitted Jurgen Klopp's side were 'not at the races'.

'We got the goal through Mo and like you said, 2-1 you're right in the tie and right in the game.

Liverpool will head into the second leg at home next Wednesday having to score at least twice.
