Andy Robertson speaks on Trent Alexander-Arnold being booed
Andy Robertson admits it "wasn't nice" to hear Anfield booing Trent Alexander-Arnold, but stopped short of telling Liverpool fans they were wrong to do it.
The Reds defender has confirmed he will leave the English Premier League champions when his contract expires in a few weeks and it's an open secret that the England international will be joining Real Madrid.
Alexander-Arnold came on as a second half sub as Arne Slot's side let a two-goal lead slip in a 2-2 draw with Arsenal.
And the home fans booed as he replaced young Northern Irish right back Conor Bradley before signing the song they have for the 21-year-old.
While Scotland skipper Robertson did't like hearing it, he didn't admonish the punters and instead focused on how much he'll miss his "best mate" in football.
"Obviously there's a lot of emotion around it," Robertson told Sky Sports.
"It's crucial in these moments that I don't tell you how to feel about it and you don't tell me how to feel about it.
All I can tell you is how I feel about it.

"First of all, I'm disappointed to lose my best mate in the game.
I think his legacy at this club is there for everyone to see; the trophies he's won, the moments he's had and the history will always be there.
"Of course it's an emotional decision for Trent and it's not been an easy one.
But like I said, we can't tell people how to act, I can tell you how I feel about it.

"I'm extremely proud of him for what he's done at this club.
I love hom as a friend, I love him as a player and he'll be missed - by me, as one of my best friends in the game.
"That's how I feel about it and I'm not going to tell anyone else how to feel about it."
