Andy Robertson insists he hasn’t been appointed as Liverpool’s new vice-captain yet - although he has admitted to already receiving messages congratulating him on landing the role.
The Reds are currently without a deputy to captain Virgil van Dijk following the departure of Trent Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid earlier this summer, although recent rumors have suggested Robertson has been handed the role.
Arne Slot has confirmed he has decided who will succeed Alexander-Arnold in the role next season, although the Liverpool boss refused to name who he had picked when pressed on the matter after the Reds’ 4-2 defeat to AC Milan on Saturday.

Liverpool has plenty of contenders to become the next vice-captain, with Robertson part of a leadership group that also includes Mohamed Salah and Alisson Becker, while Alexis Mac Allister joined the collective last year.
Although Robertson is rumored to have been given the official role for next season, the left-back is still not giving anything away at the moment - even though he has already received messages of congratulations.
“I’ve seen rumors and I’ve had texts and people congratulating me but I’ve not heard anything!” Robertson told The Anfield Wrap.
