Andy Robertson has appeared to send a message to Liverpool supporters ahead of the title lift and parade on the next day on Monday.

Trent Alexander-Arnold will don the Liverpool shirt for the final time against Crystal Palace, capping a 20-year association with the club, but the defender’s farewell is set to unfold against a backdrop of simmering tension and fractured loyalties among supporters.

Cameras captured the 26-year-old’s tense look when clapping the travelling support after the defeat to Brighton on Monday.

The vice-captain looked uncomfortable and visibly upset, with fans online speculating as to what was going through his head in these final days.

But Andy Robertson has now issued a new message to his wingback partner.

Taking to Instagram, he first praised Alexander-Arnold:

“My brother, where to even start.

I want to thank you for constantly pushing me to new limits and setting the bar so high that I had no choice but to follow.”

“You are going to be a huge miss around the training ground and an even bigger miss on the pitch.”

He then added that he hopes that Alexander-Arnold’s efforts in a Red shirt are “recognised as they should be”:

“I hope all the hard work you have put into this club, the moments you have given us and the massive contribution you have made are recognised as they should be…..”

“Wingmen one last time.”
