Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson shared a goodbye message on social media following his latest performances on the international break.

However, Robertson has yet to feature from the start this season, with Milos Kerkez being preferred by Arne Slot.

The signing of Kerkez sparked conversation regarding the Scot’s future, as Football Insider reported in June that Liverpool were ready to listen to offers for Robertson.

However, after no deal materialised in the window, Liverpool made the decision to select Robertson as vice-captain for this season.

During the break, Robertson remained focused on his duties with Scotland and has now posted a message marking the close of international duty.

Robertson shared a message to supporters in an Instagram story with a picture during Scotland’s 2-0 win over Belarus.

He posted a picture from the match alongside the caption: “A good week, loved every minute.” He followed it with a photo of himself on a plane leaving Scotland and heading back to Liverpool, adding: “Until next time.”

The defender started both games for Scotland as they also drew with Denmark in a goalless draw earlier last week, in what were his first starts of the season.

The start of the new campaign has come with uncertainty and limited minutes, as Football Insider revealed that Robertson would be open to leaving Liverpool in the summer.

However, it seems as if the speculation around his future hasn’t stopped his influential role in the national team, where his leadership remains highly valued.

Scotland now sit second in their qualifying group, level on four points with Denmark after two matches.

While Robertson had an uncertain future over the summer, another player who now looks closer to leaving is Ibrahima Konate.

Football Insider revealed Konate is edging closer to a move away from Liverpool as Real Madrid remain keen on a free transfer next summer.

The defender has less than 12 months left on his current deal, and the Spanish giants will be able to open talks with his representatives from January.

After the Reds failed to sign Marc Guehi in the summer, Liverpool are keen to hold talks with Konate, but it appears that he is closer to an exit rather than extending.
