Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson has emerged as a transfer target for Atletico Madrid.
The surprise development emerged on Saturday afternoon.
The 31-year-old is entering the final year of his contract and endured a mixed campaign last season in terms of his form.
However, he did start 33 times in the Premier League as his side went on to win the title.
News of Atletico’s interest emerged at the end of a week that saw Robertson reveal he has held talks with Liverpool about his future - and below is a round-up of everything that has happened over the last few days.

The big news confirming Atletico’s interest in Robertson broke on Saturday afternoon.
The ECHO understands that the full-back is towards the top of Atletico's wanted list as they look to strengthen their defensive resources this summer.
However, and as reported by the ECHO’s Ian Doyle, Liverpool have yet to receive an approach from Atletico but would face a difficult decision over Robertson's future should the interest be made formal, particularly if the player is receptive to the move.

Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports earlier this week, Robertson confirmed he has held initial talks over his Liverpool contract but admits he is unclear what awaits his long-term future at Anfield.
He said: “We have discussed it, of course we have.
We’ve had good discussions with me and the club but what the future holds I am not sure.
“I need a rest after a long season and then I look forward to pre-season, that’s all my focus is, I can’t look too far ahead.
I never have done that so I am not going to start doing that now.
“I know the position I am in and I have only got a year left and a lot is getting spoken about and getting said but my full focus is on being a dad for the next couple of weeks and enjoying that time with the kids.
“Then I will try to come back in the best possible shape for pre-season and then we’ll see what the future holds when these decisions come.”
Before news broke of Atletico’s interest broke on Saturday afternoon, the left-back reposted a photo from Ben Harris of the athlete management company Acme Sports Group.
He also tagged the AR26 Charity in a photo of a sign for Robertson’s annual AR 26 Captain’s Cup Golf Day.
This year’s event, according to the AR 26 website, took place on Thursday, June 12, with a gala dinner also taking place that night.
The ECHO reported on Thursday that the Reds remain confident of striking a deal for Milos Kerkez as talks with Bournemouth continue over the £45m-rated defender.
As previously reported by the ECHO, Liverpool are keen to sign a left-back this summer in a bid to find a long-term successor for Robertson.
Addressing the links to Liverpool recently, Kerkez said: "Of course, something always leaks into the news, I don't know how.
