Liverpool are ready and waiting for Alexander Isak but his arrival may cause more disruption than they realise.
The Reds have spent close to £300m this summer but based on their interest in Isak, that figure is only expected to rise significantly.
They have desperately wanted the Swede all summer and even though they have signed Hugo Ekitike, their stance has remained clear that they will make a move if he is made available.
Isak wants Liverpool but Newcastle are not letting him go until they have sourced a replacement, something that is proving very difficult as players continue to reject them throughout the window.

Every pre-season, a young star will rise up the ranks and impress both fans and coaches, but 16-year-old Rio Ngumoha’s impact has been a little different.
Not only has he impressed, but he has really shone and caused a bit of a shake-up, with his ‘explosive’ performances leaving many to believe that he is ready to play a key role next season.
Whether he has done enough is yet to be seen and rests in the hands of Arne Slot, but Townsend believes that if Isak is signed, Ngumoha simply will not get as many minutes to prove himself further.

“I admire any young players who move on in search of regular football,” he told talkSPORT.
“Ngumoha has a long way to go until he gets that at Liverpool of course, particularly if Isak walks through the door in a couple of weeks’ time, but it will be a while until he gets regular football.

“But I do admire young lads who are desperate to play, there was a spell, perhaps going back 10 years, where younger players were literally happy to pick up a few quid and not that bothered about whether they played or not.
“I don’t think you should form too many opinions on what you see in pre-season, but clearly, I saw Ngumoha’s goal, he’s very confident, brilliant finish, clearly looks a really exciting prospect.”
Townsend concluded by saying: “The fascination and intrigue now is how Arne Slot will utilise him and when he will do so throughout the season.”
When the Reds sold Luis Diaz to Bayern Munich, many were wondering who would be his replacement.
Step forward Ngumoha.
He may just be 16 but he has proven that he is more than capable of being Cody Gakpo’s understudy, while the likes of Florian Wirtz and Ekitike can also play out wide to help the teenage sensation manage his game time.
Overhyping a player of his age needs to be limited as much as possible, but based on how exciting a player he really is, containing that hype is an almost impossible task.
Now, to help him progress, Liverpool should try their best not to block his route for the first-team, and that starts by not signing a replacement and using him there instead.
