Marc Guehi is reportedly contemplating giving up his role as Crystal Palace captain after the club thwarted his move to Liverpool, leaving him angry.
Guehi was on the brink of joining Liverpool on transfer deadline day after Palace chairman Steve Parish overruled manager Oliver Glasner's wishes and accepted their £35million bid for the defender.
Despite being linked with Manchester City's Manuel Akanji, Monaco's Mohammed Salisu, Rennes' Jeremy Jacquet and Brighton's Julio, they only signed Toulouse's Jaydee Canvot.

Beyond managing the consequences of a discontented captain, Palace now face the prospect of losing Guehi for nothing next summer.
He will be free to enter discussions with overseas clubs during the January transfer window, whilst Liverpool may choose to revive their pursuit in the New Year as well.
"I can say it with clarity, and I said it to the chairman that it's nothing to do with Oliver Glasner but we need to keep Marc to play a successful season," Glasner remarked following the Villa victory.
