Dejan Kulusevski has been out of Tottenham’s side with a knee injury since last season with the Swede expected to miss most of 2025’s action.
Kulusevski was a bright spark for Tottenham last season and new manager Thomas Frank will be awaiting his return to the side.
Along with Kulusevski, Frank is also without Dominic Solanke and James Maddison in his forward areas, with his squad looking thin at the top end of the pitch.
The summer transfer window has seen attacking reinforcements come to the club but Frank will be wanting Kulusevski back and firing soon.

Xavi Simons is the natural replacement for Kulusevski, while Mohammed Kudus can also operate in wide areas for Frank in the Swede’s absence.
Taking to Instagram, Kulusevski issued a stomach churning update on his knee injury, showing the extent of the damage the Swedish international is facing, by posting an image of his surgery taking place.
Thank god it happened [the surgery] so I could see it clear [the extent of the damage].”
Among those to respond and show their support for Kulusevski was Sweden teammate and Newcastle United winger Anthony Elanga, who responded with a GIF, referencing Jackie Chan saying: “Be water my friend.”
The post will no doubt be a blow to Tottenham fans who would have been hoping for a more positive update, but it appears that Kulusevski will be out of action until the new year.

The post will equally be a blow to Frank, but thanks to some savvy work in the transfer window the Dane has been backed with transfer reinforcements.
Simons and Kudus offer a dynamic option in behind the forward options of Richarlison and Kolo Muani, as well as the options of Brennan Johnson and Mathys Tel who are already at the club.

Frank’s side are off to a blistering start in the Premier League, having won two of their opening games, including a 2-0 victory over Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
Their 1-0 loss to Bournemouth would have stung heading into the international break, but Frank will expect his side to bounce back strongly against London rivals West Ham next Saturday.
