Tino Livramento’s latest Newcastle United display has heightened speculation that he could leave St.
James’ Park this summer.
Football Insider revealed last month that Newcastle had placed an £80million price tag on Livramento amid interest from Manchester City in the versatile full-back, after two strong seasons at St.
James’ Park.
Eddie Howe is loathe to lose the 22-year-old this summer and Newcastle have made their stance clear on Livramento’s future, but Man City’s search for a right-back is still ongoing as part of their own rebuild.
Newcastle‘s right flank has already received an upgrade this summer after Anthony Elanga‘s £55m move from Nottingham Forest, and Howe will want to see the Swede and Livramento link up much more often.

Livramento has started the season and ended much of the last campaign playing at left-back, deputising for the injured Lewis Hall with Kieran Trippier more comfortable occupying the right-hand side instead.
Hall returned from injury in Newcastle’s 3-2 defeat to Liverpool after being confined to the sidelines since February, and his introduction in the 76th minute allowed Livramento to switch back to right-back.
A superb display from Newcastle’s number 21 included the assist for Bruno Guimaraes‘ 57th-minute header, and after Man City fans called for Livramento to be signed at all costs, he posted on Instagram.

The England defender’s captionless post on Tuesday included several in-game and post-match images, and Elanga responded with a ‘shaking hands’ emoji to show his solidarity.

Football Insider Verdict
Livramento’s performance against the champions may have been praised by fans of multiple clubs, but Newcastle fans didn’t hold back at Nick Pope after he was caught out for Ryan Graveberch’s opener.
Magpies supporters want to see Aaron Ramsdale between the sticks and will be hopeful that Hall is fit enough to start at left-back for Saturday’s clash at Leeds, freeing up Livramento to return to right-back.
Fabian Schar‘s absence through concussion also opens up a spot for Sven Botman or new signing Malick Thiaw to start at Elland Road, leaving Livramento as possibly the only surviving member of Howe’s much changed defence.
