And his ex-teammate Gordon - who has long been linked with his own move to Liverpool - has since issued a message to Isak following his departure from St James' Park.

Gordon, who has 570,000 followers, said on Instagram: "Regardless of the situation & what's gone on.

Isak, meanwhile, expressed his delight after managing to secure his switch to Liverpool.

He told Liverpoolfc.com: "I feel amazing.

I’m a striker but I always want to give as much as possible to the team, mainly goals but much more than that as well.
