Anthony Gordon has sent a two-word message to Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones amid reported transfer interest from the Merseyside outfit.

Gordon, who was born in the city, spent time in the Reds’ youth set-up before being released and joining Everton at the age of 11.

After several years in the Toffees’ first team, he joined Newcastle United in 2023 and has since gone on to establish himself as an England international.

Liverpool were heavily linked with Gordon 12 months ago when Newcastle were under pressure to raise funds through player sales to comply with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).

However, a move never materialised, and the winger instead signed a new deal with the Magpies in October last year.

That said, rumours linking Gordon with a move to Anfield have not entirely subsided, as the Reds ramp up their summer recruitment.

Amid uncertainty over the future of several of Liverpool’s current forwards, it remains to be seen whether Richard Hughes and co will revisit their interest.

One thing is certain, however, Jones and Gordon are close friends and would likely welcome the chance to play together at club level, as well as internationally.

Jones made his feelings clear earlier this month when he liked an Instagram post linking Gordon with Liverpool.

Since then, the Reds midfielder has shared a series of holiday snaps with both family and friends, including Gordon.

Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez is also expected to join, with reports this week suggesting the Reds are closing in on a deal for the 21-year-old.

Darwin Nunez and Federico Chiesa both face uncertain futures at the club, while Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo are reportedly attracting interest from European giants Barcelona and Bayern Munich respectively.
