Anthony Gordon has made it clear Liverpool will face a fierce atmosphere when they travel to St.
Newcastle’s winger said the tension caused by Alexander Isak’s uncertain future has only united the Magpies and the home crowd will not make it easy for the Premier League champions.
Speaking to TNT after the 0-0 draw with Aston Villa, Gordon said:
“It has been difficult because we’re such a tight knit group.
“We’ve never really had any problems publicly and that being the first thing that’s happened, it’s tested us, but we’ve still got that spirit, that togetherness and it’s never going to go regardless of the individuals.”
He added:
“I think with everything that has gone on I’m sure the atmosphere against Liverpool is going to be a bit wild!”

The Newcastle striker has withdrawn from the squad as he awaits Liverpool’s second bid.
Isak has made it clear he wants to join the Reds, turning down lucrative offers from abroad in favour of a move to Anfield.
Newcastle rejected Liverpool’s first approach earlier this month but remain under pressure as they look for a replacement.
Isak’s absence is already being felt and the transfer saga is set to add even more intensity to next week’s clash.
