Fulham youngster Josh King broke his silence on social media after having his first senior goal ruled out by VAR.

Fulham were at the end of a controversial VAR decision over the weekend, after 18-year-old King’s first goal for the club was cruelly ruled out against Chelsea.

King was put through on goal by a brilliant pass by Rodrigo Muniz, then twisted inside Tosin Adarabioyo and slotting the ball home.

However, VAR ruled King’s goal out due to Muniz, who appeared to stand on Trevoh Chalobah before the goal where he turned past the defender.

Former PGMOL chief Keith Hackett slammed the decision to rule King’s goal out, claiming it was not a “careless challenge” by Muniz and VAR should not have intervened.

Now, the youngster himself shared a message on social media after the controversial incident.

The youngster received plenty of support from his teammates with Timothy Castagne commenting: “So good” while Muniz, Antonee Robinson and Calvin Bassey all liked the post.

Robinson himself slammed VAR for the decision on his own Instagram story, marking Fulham’s third consecutive game this season affected by controversy.

Meanwhile, 18-year-old King broke through into Fulham’s senior side last season, making 11 appearances for the Whites in all competitions, and has begun as the starting winger in Silva’s side this term.

While Silva expressed frustration over the VAR decision, questions remain about his own future at Fulham amid limited activity in the transfer market.

Football Insider revealed that Nottingham Forest have set their sights on appointing Silva as Nuno Espirito Santo’s potential replacement.

With Nuno’s future still uncertain at the club, and Silva possibly questioning his future at Fulham after a lack of transfer activity, he could be tempted by a move to the City Ground should Evangelos Marinakis replace Nuno.
