Arjen Robben was spotted at Anfield on Sunday where he watched Liverpool win against Tottenham alongside Thiago Alcantara.

The Reds managed to end a dreary run of results with a good 4-2 win over Spurs – with Ange Postecoglou’s men now on four games without a win.

Goals from Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson, Cody Gakpo, and Harvey Elliott put Liverpool 4-0 ahead before the hour mark.

Although more goals seemed likely, they came from Tottenham instead, with Richarlison and Son Heung-min both finding the net.

Manager Jurgen Klopp even said after the game that “we are outstanding until we are not” as he explained the double scare towards the end of the game.

With Liverpool already having three Dutch players and a Dutch manager all but confirmed for next season, it makes sense then to complete the set with a Dutch footballing legend amongst the Anfield crowd.

Arjen Robben meets up with Thiago

Bayern Munich and Holland legend Arjen Robben was spotted in attendance at the Anfield on Sunday.

He represented the Bavarian giants for most of his glittering career, although also had stints at Real Madrid and Chelsea.

The 40-year-old was seen chatting and saying goodbye to Thiago in the Anfield tunnel after watching the game.

The pair played on 59 occasions with each other while representing Bayern Munich, winning the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal together on plenty of occasions.

Arjen Robben left Bayern in 2019 after 10 successful years at the Allianz Arena.

He had a short break before wrapping up his professional football career at Groningen in 2021, playing his final season with his childhood club.

Since then, he has ventured into coaching and is currently working as a coach trainee with Groningen’s U18 team.

Thiago’s future looks clear

Meanwhile, Thiago is almost certain to leave Liverpool this summer with his contract expiring at the end of the season.

When the Spaniard signed in 2020, He had just come off the back of winning a sextuple with Bayern Munich.

Reds fans were eager to witness a different kind of midfielder in the engine room.

Thiago’s technical prowess and composure with the ball promised to enhance Liverpool’s play.

However, injuries hampered his time at Anfield, disrupting his rhythm and limiting his on-field impact.

Despite displaying flashes of his remarkable talent whenever he played, his frequent injuries hindered him from fully integrating into the team and showing his best in a Liverpool shirt.

Thiago is one of the top earners in the Liverpool squad earning a reported €10m per year net per season – which means the Anfield hierarchy are happy to let him go.
