Liverpool has just three matches left of the Jürgen Klopp era with the appointment of his successor close to being finalized.

After months of speculation, Arne Slot looks set to be the man in the Anfield dugout next season.

Klopp has already enthused about his likely successor, saying before the draw with West Ham: "I like the way his team play football.



If he is the solution or the man, I’m more than happy."

Slot's attacking approach is believed to have appealed to the Liverpool hierarchy, with his ability to develop younger players also indicating an obvious continuity from the Klopp era.

The pair may ultimately have different personalities but they do have one common love outside of football — padel.

The sport is a cross between tennis and squash and is growing at a rapid rate across the UK and Europe.

Reds boss Klopp discovered his admiration for the game after a training camp in Tenerife and managed to persuade the club to install a court at the AXA Training Centre.

The Athletic reports that Te Kloese promised Slot a padel court if his side won the Eredvisie last seaosn, which it duly did.

Liverpool.com says: Reds fans will hope the similarities between Klopp and Slot stretch beyond interest in padel, with the Dutchman primed to take over.

There is no doubt Klopp will be on hand to help and support his successor, and Slot faces a difficult task at Anfield.
