There is now just over two weeks remaining of the Jürgen Klopp era at Liverpool, with Arne Slot preparing to replace the iconic German boss.

Slot's appointment is close to being finalized and he will arrive from Feyenoord with an impressive reputation.

Slot won the Eredivisie last season and claimed the Dutch Cup earlier this campaign, with his attacking approach believed to have appealed to Liverpool chiefs.



Instead, Slot will work closely with incoming sporting director Richard Hughes to identify targets that can improve this talented Liverpool squad.

He is already being tipped for reunions with some of his current Feyenoord players.

The Athletic reports on Slot's clear transfer strategy of signing talented young players before developing and improving them, in a similar manner to what Klopp has done at Liverpool.

It is claimed Slot targeted “players who are not maybe the best in the world, but who brought energy to the team and also to the stadium." It is a tactic that has paid off during his Feyenoord tenure and something he will likely look to replicate at Anfield.

The report goes on to suggest Slot even analyzes how potential new signings represent themselves in the media, as he wants them to buy into, and reflect the culture of the club.

Liverpool is likely to sign at least one central defender this summer, with Joël Matip expected to depart on a free transfer.

Jarell Quansah has enjoyed a fine breakthrough campaign but Slot is expected to add to his senior options.

A decision will also be needed over the future of Mohamed Salah, with his contract up in 2025.

Saudi Pro League clubs are likely to reignite their interest in the Egyptian talisman but Liverpool expects Salah to stay and be a part of Slot's squad going into next season, reports The Athletic.

Liverpool.com says: The Reds are not going to have huge sums of money to spend again this summer, so Slot and sporting director Hughes will have to get creative in the transfer market.
