Arne Slot has spoken about his potential appointment as Liverpool manager.

Slot is currently the subject of negotiations between the Anfield hierarchy and his employers Feyenoord to become Jurgen Klopp’s successor this summer.

But the 45-year-old publicly broke his silence on the ongoing developments as he hopes to be installed as the new Reds’ boss once Klopp departs.

Speaking ahead of his side’s trip to Go Ahead Eagles on Thursday, Slot admitted he is optimistic about a deal being reached between the two parties.

“It’s no secret that I want to go to Liverpool,” he told ESPN.

“The clubs are negotiating. We have to wait until an agreement is reached, but I have every confidence in that.

“I’d like to become the new Liverpool manager. The clubs are negotiating, so I am still on hold. We are waiting for an agreement to be reached.

“But I am confident of that.”
