Arne Slot has confirmed Liverpool has agreed a deal with Parma for the signing of Giovanni Leoni, although he isn't giving anything away about the potential signing of Marc Guehi.
Leoni is understood to be undergoing his medical on Merseyside today, having been permission to travel to Liverpool in order to complete a $35 million, with the 18-year-old bolstering Slot's defensive options on the eve of the new Premier League season.
The teenager could be joined by Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi, with the Reds working on a deal to potentially sign him before the end of the transfer window, although Slot wasn't prepared to discuss the England international joining in his pre-match press conference on Thursday.

Confirming Leoni's imminent arrival, Slot said: "The clubs have agreed a deal, but he hasn't signed for us yet
The moment when he signs for us, I can go into more detail.
Moving on to Guehi, Slot said: "And the other one is, of course, the answer you always get from me.
Asked whether he could discuss his expectations in the pursuit of the Palace defender, Slot added: "No, because he's not our player, and unfortunately he was the captain of the team who we lost against last Sunday.
"If you want to have any talks about him, you should go to Palace, to [Oliver] Glasner and ask him his opinion about him."
Leoni is expected to go straight into the first-team setup at Anfield, although it is unlikely he will be in Friday's squad against Bournemouth given the quick turnaround from his medical.
Liverpool is reported to have beaten the likes of Inter and AC Milan to his signing, while Manchester United and Newcastle are also said to have shown a late interest.
A deal for Guehi, meanwhile, remains up in the air, with Liverpool looking at the possibility of signing him before the end of the current transfer window.
There is still a gap in valuations of the defender though, with Palace wanting $54 million while the Reds would be looking at something closer to $41M or $48M
Should the two clubs not be able to reach a deal, Guehi could instead leave Selhurst Park for free next summer when his contract expires.
