This might be only Arne Slot’s second season in England but he could soon be considered among some of the elite.
When Slot first came to Liverpool, he had the impossible task of replacing Jurgen Klopp, although the pressure on his shoulders was not too great due to many believing the Dutchman would need at least one season to transition.
That was not needed, however, and the 46-year-old hit the ground running and exceeded all expectations.
This, combined with the transfer business the Reds have been conducting throughout the summer, means that pressure next season has increased tenfold, making retaining their title even harder.
However, Liverpool are certainly in the best possible position to achieve this feat and if they do, Slot will join an illustrious list that only has Jose Mourinho’s name on it.

The Premier League has seen some of the best managers come and go in its time but one of the best to ever grace the division is Mourinho.
‘The special one’ was a rather interesting character who clearly had the self belief to lead his teams to trophies, with the Portuguese boss turning Chelsea into a dominant force, especially in his first spell in charge.
And, despite all the top managers that have been in England before, it is only Mourinho who has won the Premier League in his first two seasons in charge, although that could change next season.

As originally reported by The Athletic, Slot could become just the second manager to achieve this feat, further cementing himself as one of Europe’s top managers.
The Dutchman is already adored on the red half of Merseyside and has been added to the managers banner, with this just another thing that will improve his legacy even further.
If he is to do it, however, it certainly will not be an easy task, with the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City both strengthening, while perhaps even Mourinho’s old club Chelsea potentially able to close the gap.
Of course, whether Slot does manage to win the league back-to-back will not be decided for a little while yet, but the Dutchman might be written off early if Liverpool have a poor start to the season.
As mentioned, they have recruited so well that expectations will be higher than ever, but this also means that things might take a little bit of time to click.
The new signings need to gel quickly and settle into their new environment, something that is not always as easy as fans perhaps realise.
Liverpool also have a few gaps needing to be filled, mainly in defence, indicating that they are not perhaps as strong as the amount of money they have spent would suggest.
Their opening fixtures could also be quite tricky to navigate, meaning that the start of the season has the potential to be a bit of a disaster if they are not careful.
