Elsewhere, four of Naby Keita’s nine Premier League starts (and seven of his 18 appearances) that year came from the final seven games.
Likewise, four of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s 17 starts came during such a run.
Half of Takumi Minamino’s 10 Premier League outings and two starts also came once the league was won, while two of Divock Origi’s seven starts also came with nothing on the line.

And while Adam Lallana was handed a short-term contract extension to ensure he could be part of the title celebrations, he was only named in one matchday squad - the night Liverpool lifted the Premier League trophy after beating Chelsea - as Klopp prioritised players who would be staying put.

Elsewhere, the likes of Mohamed Salah, who has started every Premier League match this season, will have no desire to be benched as he looks to clinch the Golden Boot and Playmaker awards.
The Egyptian is also chasing down new records, including the most assists in a Premier League season and most goal contributions in a Premier League season.
He has regularly rotated at left-back throughout the campaign, with Kostas Tsimikas well-placed to get further starting opportunities as a result.

But while the Liverpool head coach has confirmed he will rotate his hand during the final month of the season, with a near full senior squad to choose from, don’t expect him to follow Klopp’s example and turn to the academy just yet.
The Reds might have won the title with games to spare, but Slot will still have to perform a balancing act, given the number of players fit and available to him.
