Arne Slot insists Liverpool will be in a position to sign players before the deadline if they can get the ones they want.

The Reds boss wouldn’t be drawn on the club’s pursuit of Alexander Isak and insists he’s happy with his squad if they don’t land any more new players before Monday night.

Liverpool are hoping to sign Newcastle forward Isak and are looking at a deal for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi to bolster their squad.

Slot said: “I think I said after Monday, I could make a sub to impact the game.

And there are only three or four days to go now, so let's see if we do something.”

Rio Ngumoha, 16, came off the bench to win the game at Newcastle on Monday night as Liverpool came through a hostile atmosphere following their pursuit of Isak, who has been on strike this summer trying to force a move to Anfield.

Slot is hopeful both Conor Bradley, who returned as a sub at St James’ Park, and Alexis Mac Allister could be fit for the game at Anfield.
