Arne Slot will be facing a major selection headache as his side travel to Burnley in the Premier League on Sunday.

Slot’s side have made a perfect start to their Premier League title defence, winning all three of their opening games.

Slot’s side have scored eight goals so far in the league and added the additional fire power of Alexander Isak in a blockbuster move that broke the transfer deadline day record.

Fans clamoured to social media to get a glimpse of Isak on his first day at training with Liverpool, and now the Swedish international will hope to make an appearance at the weekend.

Isak’s move, worth £125 million, came ahead of the international break, so the Burnley match will be Liverpool fans’ first chance to see the Swede in Liverpool colours.

Isak arrives at Liverpool with a proven Premier League goalscoring record, topping 20 league goals in his last two campaigns at Newcastle.

Yet, it’s the Swedish international’s goalscoring record against Burnley that will be of interest to Slot when he comes to select his team on Sunday.

To make matters more complicated, current forward Hugo Ekitike has also had a blistering start to his Liverpool career, scoring three goals in his first four Liverpool starts.

Having only played 25 minutes of competitive football during the international break with Sweden, Slot may opt to start Isak on the bench as he builds up to full match fitness, giving Ekitike the nod at Turf Moor.

Ekitike’s goalscoring record wince moving to England from Eintracht Frankfurt has made him almost undroppable so far.

Yet, if Slot is to play Ekitike and Isak together, it would surely mean moving one of the pair to the left wing, a position that Cody Gakpo has currently made his own.

Gakpo has three goal involvements in his first three Premier League starts this season and could make a case for being Liverpool’s most important winger at current.

With a host of superstars now bursting at the seams in Slot’s attack the Dutchman will have a nice problem when it comes to selecting the quartet that will play in the forward areas this season.
