However, all four of Liverpool’s major summer signings started the match against Palace.

The game ended 2-2 and went to penalties, where Liverpool lost 3-2.

The Dutch mastermind spoke on Ekitike and Wirtz: “These are players we have brought in for quite a lot of money, so they know how to handle the pressure.

As Slot noted, this was the first major game for the newcomers in the Red shirt, and the Liverpool boss seemed pleased with their performance in the frontline.

He also admitted that things might take time, saying: “We’ve replaced four players, and sometimes you need time to adapt offensively or defensively.
