Liverpool will have to wait until they host Everton at the start of April to continue their pursuit of the Premier League title.

The Reds are 12 points clear at the top of the league but suffered disappointing defeats to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League and Newcastle United in the League Cup final last week.

For Arne Slot, it was the first time he has lost back-to-back games since succeeding Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool's head coach last summer.

The Dutchman, though, will now have to wait until after the international break to see his side's reaction to a disappointing week at Anfield.

Here, the ECHO looks at the latest Liverpool news and rumours you might have missed.

Liverpool will reportedly battle Barcelona to sign Feyenoord right-back Givairo Read this summer.

According to Sport, the 18-year-old defender is someone the Reds have earmarked as a potential replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold, who is set to leave the club at the end of the season.

Read has made 17 appearances in the Eredivisie this season for Feyenoord - Slot's old side - and the impressive nature of his performances is said to have resulted in the Reds 'monitoring' his progress.

Ryan Gravenberch has withdrawn from the Netherlands squad for this week's Nations League matches against Spain after suffering an injury in Liverpool's Carabao Cup defeat to Newcastle United.

Gravenberch played 74 minutes at Wembley on Sunday afternoon as the Reds suffered just a sixth defeat of the season after goals from Dan Burn and Alexander Isak won the cup for the Magpies.

After Liverpool's defeat in the capital, Gravenberch, who has played 41 times for Liverpool across all competitions this term, joined the Dutch national team at their base in Utrecht.

But despite training with the rest of Ronald Koeman's group on Monday, the former Ajax and Bayern Munich midfielder has now withdrawn from the squad ahead of Thursday night's clash against Spain in Rotterdam.
