Arne Slot has once again been speaking on his impending Liverpool appointment.

The Feyenoord boss is set to succeed Jurgen Klopp at Anfield in the summer, and it has all but officially been announced.

Many have been wondering when the 45-year-old will be officially conferred after widespread reliable reports stated that his appointment is a formality.

Speaking in his pre-PEC Zwolle press conference (via 1908.NL), the Dutchman declared that he is still focused on his current club:

“I’m sitting here with the Feyenoord emblem on my chest, so it’s basically the intention that it will be about Feyenoord,” Slot began.

“I’ve said before that I’m confident it’s going to come around.

But I expect it to come to an agreement [between Liverpool and Feyenoord.”

“I just think it’s appropriate to give all the answers to these questions at the end of the season, because I’m still busy with Feyenoord here and Liverpool is also still busy with their season.” 

Slot added that he had not been in Liverpool this week amid reports that an agreement between the two clubs had already been reached:

“I’ve been to England many times in my life, but not in the past few days.”

He was then quizzed on whether he has had difficulties focusing on the Rotterdam club amid the strong links with Liverpool:

“Not at all.

Then it’s not difficult at all.”

“After the season I will answer all the questions, but now I am there to get as many points as possible with Feyenoord.”

His coaching journey commenced humbly at clubs such as PEC Zwolle and NAC Breda in his native Netherlands.

Notably, Slot garnered significant acclaim during his stint as assistant coach at AZ Alkmaar.
