Arne Slot has addressed Alisson Becker’s absence after the goalkeeper left Liverpool’s tour of Asia early this week.

It was announced on Tuesday that the 32-year-old had left Japan ahead of the Reds’ friendly against Yokohama F Marinos, having also missed the most recent training session.

The Brazilian had played his first pre-season game in Saturday's defeat to AC Milan.

His absence resulted in new arrival Giorgi Mamardashvili being handed the gloves for Wednesday’s friendly, with Liverpool boss Slot addressing Alisson’s absence when speaking to LFCTV ahead of the game at the Nissan Stadium.

Reports this week indicated that Alisson would rejoin the rest of his teammates for training when they return to the UK, with Liverpool set to take on Athletic Bilbao in a double header at Anfield on August 4.
