Arne Slot has outlined Dominik Szoboszlai’s current price-tag after his impressive start to the new season at Liverpool.

Liverpool have been seriously impressive at the start of the 2025-26 campaign as they aim to win a successive Premier League title under Arne Slot.

They have scored late winners in each of their four league outings so far, with Mo Salah‘s added-time penalty against Burnley allowing them to take maximum points at Turf Moor on Sunday (14 September).

Slot has had to change up his starting eleven after injuries to some of his likely starters, with Dominik Szoboszlai being shifted to right-back after Jeremie Frimpong suffered an injury on the opening day of the season against Bournemouth.

The Hungary international has been a standout for the Reds in recent games, despite playing in a makeshift position, and he even netted a fantastic winner against Arsenal before the international break, with Slot now placing a hefty price-tag on his head as a result.

Lots was made of Liverpool’s big summer spending as they broke the British transfer record twice to sign both Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz, but they were able to raise around £228m [Sky Sports] in player sales to fund such an expensive window.

Szoboszlai has been a massive part of their success so far this term, and amid his strong form, Reds boss Slot backed him to be worth a huge amount during his pre-match press conference on Tuesday (16 September) before their Champions League game against Athletic Bilbao, saying: “If we sold Dominik Szoboszlai tomorrow he would be worth £100m as well.”

Szoboszlai is now into his third campaign at Anfield, but he has arguably never been as influential on their team as right now despite their recent successes.

His versatility in putting in great shifts at right-back has been heralded by fans and Slot alike, and Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk has also recognised how he has stepped up so far this term.

Van Dijk also praised Szoboszlai prior to Slot’s claim on Tuesday, saying: “Dom has had a great start to the season.

Position isn’t his favoured one but he did it in a world class level,” which he will obviously love to hear from such a top player like the Dutchman.

While the Hungary international will likely not stay at right-back for long with Frimpong and Conor Bradley now back fit, after he already moved into midfield against Burnley, it is ideal for the Reds to know that he can now play there if needed in the future.

Szoboszlai will hope to nail down a place in Slot’s midfield going forward, and if Florian Wirtz’s poor performances are anything to go by, he will need to continue stepping up in front of goal too.
