Arne Slot hinted Alexander Isak is feeling the effects of the midweek match against Atletico Madrid, placing his position in the starting line-up against Everton into doubt.
Isak's fitness has been a major talking point in the last week.
The Premier League's record signing was deemed not fit enough to make the bench against Burnley on Sunday, but surprisingly came into the line-up to face Atletico Madrid in midweek.
Isak played just under an hour and Slot admitted post-match that he was impressed by the Swede's fitness levels following a disjointed.
The Dutchman also said that Isak would not play 90 minutes against Everton but hinted he might start in the derby.
But speaking on Friday, Slot seemed to row back on those comments slightly and said Isak felt the effects of Wednesday's game.
"I don’t think I will tell the media the day before the game how we start.
We had a recovery day yesterday and we train later.
"Alex did feel his body more than ever after the 60 minutes he played.
We will think about the line-up later."
