Feyenoord boss could bid farewell to Rotterdam giants on Sunday

Arne Slot insists he is not afraid of the challenge potentially awaiting him at Liverpool.
The Feyenoord manager is the Merseyside club’s leading choice to replace Jurgen Klopp when the German calls an end to his trophy-laden stint at Anfield following this Sunday’s Premier League game against Wolves.
Stepping into Klopp’s shoes may be a daunting prospect for managers given the impact the Liverpool boss has made in English football since his appointment in 2015.
Still, the 45-year-old believes working at a club as big as Feyenoord has prepared him for the scrutiny bound to come his way should he make the move to one of the Premier League’s elite sides.
Slot led the Rotterdam giants to their first Eredivisie title since 2017 last season before winning the KNVB Cup this time around.
“I think that almost every trainer of a top club is on the edge of being overworked,” he told Algemeen Dagblad.
“Being a head coach is a very tough job.
Especially at a top club with so many opinion makers in front of you every week.
I really experienced this, as it turns out, last season at Feyenoord as tough.”
Asked if moving to Liverpool would increase the pressure on him, Slot added: “That would also have been the case if I had stayed at Feyenoord.
That has often been successful, but as a trainer you are constantly working on that.”
Slot’s final game in charge of Feyenoord could come on Sunday when they host Rotterdam rivals Excelsior.
