Arne Slot has admitted he would like more time to spend with his family as he opened up about the impact becoming Liverpool’s head coach has had on his life.

The Dutchman will finally get his hands on the Premier League trophy today after leading his side to the title in his first season in charge, having taken over from Jurgen Klopp last summer.

The decision for his wife Mirjam, son Joep and daughter Isa to not make the move over was made by Slot in order to not disrupt his children’s education, although the Liverpool boss has confessed being away from his loved ones hasn’t quite been ideal.

“Anyone who is married and has a good marriage, I think I do, would like to see the children and the wife a bit more,” Slot told Dutch outlet AD.

“My wife comes over for a couple of days every two weeks, the children unfortunately even less.”

Slot’s family was able to make the journey to Anfield to watch Liverpool secure the Premier League title against Tottenham last month, and they have been seen at other games as well.

The Reds boss also revealed Isa will move in with him for three months while she studies English in Manchester.

His newfound fame on Merseyside though has had an impact, with Slot admitting it has been tough to adjust to for his wife.
