Feyenoord's highly-rated vice-captain Lutsharel Geertruida was spotted in the stands during Liverpool's draw with West Ham on Saturday, just one day after the Reds agreed a compensation package for his manager Arne Slot.

Slot is set to take over from Jurgen Klopp ahead of next season and he may look to bring a handful of his most talented Feyenoord stars with him.



The 23-year-old has also been given international recognition, featuring regularly with the Netherlands national team.

Able to play at centre-back, full-back or at the base of midfield, £25million-rated Geertruida set tongues wagging this weekend by revealing on his Snapchat story that he was situated in the away end for Liverpool's 2-2 draw at West Ham.

If a move to Anfield is in his sights, it won't have been a pleasing trip to England as he watched Liverpool drop two costly points and effectively blow their Premier League title chances with three games still to play.

As yet there are no concrete links between Liverpool and Geertruida, but his attendance at the London Stadium came at a curious time given the proximity to Slot's compensation agreement becoming public knowledge.

Reds legend Dirk Kuyt previously worked closely with Geertruida during his time coaching Feyenoord's youth teams.

And last year he name-dropped the Dutchman, along with Orkun Kokcu, as players Liverpool should keep an eye on.

"I am a Feyenoord man and they are doing very well at the moment," Kuyt told the Liverpool Echo.

"They have a very good manager in Arne Slot and some of the younger guys like Orkun Kokcu and Lutsharel Geertruida are knocking on the door and playing very well.

"It won’t take long for the interest of top European teams to be there for them.

I hope Liverpool is interested in Feyenoord players, and I am an example it can work.

"When I was working as under-19s coach, Kokcu and Geertruida were in my team at the time.
