Liverpool’s first season under Arne Slot could not have gone much better.
When it was announced that Jurgen Klopp would be leaving the Reds, the fanbase went into complete meltdown, which, at the time, seemed justifiable.
The work the German had done during his nine years at the club has changed the trajectory of Liverpool forever and he will go down as one of their greatest ever managers, meaning replacing him was a very tricky task indeed.
However, bringing in Slot has proven to be another stroke of genius from the hierarchy and the transition between the two has been seamless, hence why they were so successful last season.
Although he has not changed too much, Slot has instilled his methodical approach into the side to make them more controlled, while ensuring attacking threat is not lost.
But there is one change behind the scenes that he has made which has really paid off, with it also showing why he can command so much respect.

Simply put, Slot has a certain aura about him.
When he speaks, everyone, both players and fans alike, listen to him.
There is a reason for this and by no means was Klopp doing anything wrong or was viewed any differently, but Slot’s approach appears more careful and thought out.

Journalist Lewis Steele revealed that the Dutchman’s level of detail is off the charts, and the number of meetings he insists on having is a key reason for this.
“When I was speaking to players last season a lot of them had said it’s been so different to Klopp in terms of levels of detail that Slot goes into.
It’s meetings, meetings, meetings, whereas Klopp may only do one around the game,” Steele said on his YouTube channel.

“Slot will do it every day.
Team meetings, individual meetings, each player at Liverpool even has their own mentor.
You need to improve.’”
Hidden ruthlessness is a trait that Slot possesses, but only those close to him know he has, again indicating why he has been so successful at Anfield in such a short period of time.
In the past, owners FSG have perhaps been a bit tight with money and not invested as much as they should have.
This is not the case this summer, however.
The American owners have already allowed Slot to spend just under £200m and he is expected to be given a bit more as well, suggesting they strongly believe he is the right man for the job.
A centre-back and a striker are still high up on their agenda, with a new winger also an option, especially if Luis Diaz departs.
