One of Liverpool’s transfers that didn’t really cause all that much of a stir in the summer was the exit of Tyler Morton.
The midfielder had an impressive season on loan with Hull City during the 2023-24 campaign and, although he likely expected to be called up to the Reds’ first-team squad more last season, he ended up staying in their reserves.
When Jurgen Klopp was in charge, Morton was given a fair few games, but, in reality, it was Bajcetic who he saw taking over from Fabinho upon his departure.
However, after a year filled with injuries, Bajcetic didn’t get up to much either, and, while McConnell may now be spending a season on loan with Ajax, it’s Morton who’s thriving.
