Arne Slot has asked Liverpool's supporters to put their feelings about Trent Alexander-Arnold to one side on Sunday, as the Reds prepare to lift the Premier League trophy.
Alexander-Arnold was jeered on his last home appearance, when he came on as a substitute in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal earlier this month, and in the Reds' only game since then, he was an unused substitute.
There are concerns that the party atmosphere which is expected at Anfield for the final game of the season at Crystal Palace could be dampened if Alexander-Arnold receives another frosty reception.
Because of that, Slot has called on supporters to focus solely on the title party.
Whatever could distract us can be put to one side.
"This is one of the biggest days in the modern history of Liverpool Football Club, so it makes sense that we all contribute to making it as positive as it can be and enjoy it as much as possible.
Again, nothing else matters.
"The reason I am saying this is I am as aware as anyone of the situation around Trent [Alexander-Arnold] and I know because these feelings have been made clear that there are some of you who would prefer for him not to be involved today.
"The first thing I have to make clear is that whatever your view, we all want what is best for this club and it is always so, so important that we all remember this.
.
"For some of our supporters, I know they believe it is not right that a player who has told us he will be leaving us and who will leave us when his contract expires should be given further opportunities to play for us.
"As I have said from the outset, it is not my place to question how people feel, particularly when they give as much to Liverpool FC as our supporters do.
