It will be a family affair for Arne Slot at Anfield on Sunday as Liverpool look to clinch the Premier League title.

The Reds need just one point from their clash with Tottenham Hotspur to be crowned champions.

Boasting a 12-point lead and a game in-hand on Arsenal with five matches remaining, Liverpool are well-placed to win the title even if they slip up against Spurs.



But as Slot looks set to become only the fifth manager to win the Premier League in his first season in the English top-flight, he will have the majority of his family and friends flying over and watching on for what could be a memorable day for the Reds, as he also takes advantage of a happy coincidence over in the Netherlands.

“They (Slot's wife and two children) mostly come to the home games,” the Liverpool head coach said.

“But it’s holiday in Holland so this was already planned that not only family members but a lot of friends will visit as well.

“That is mainly because it is holiday time but if they weren’t planning this game, I think my children and my wife would have come.”

However, two people that won’t be at Anfield are Slot’s parents.

“But my parents will be watching.

“I think my dad has the same opinion as all the people who follow Liverpool.

In some games we’ve played better than other games or than other moments in games.

“But we were always a very, very, very difficult team to beat because we work so hard.”

Slot has won a league title before, lifting the Eredivisie with Feyenoord in 2023 as they were crowned Dutch champions for only the second time since 1999.

Admitting he did ‘not go crazy’ when Feyenoord won the title three years ago, he concedes it will likely be a similar story at Anfield when Liverpool win the Premier League.
